Hello again,
We all use PayPal and without doubt its the most widely used however being the biggest payment processor online, does it make it also the best one? I've heard many horror stories about them and I've had some problems myself which it took them 3 weeks to respond (after my continuous emails) |

NO!
Being the biggest payment processor doesn't make you the best one and PayPal is a living example of that. I've got a PayPal account (from a friend of mine living abroad) and believe me their fees, support and so on are simply amateurish. I've been using for a long time Moneybookers and haven't had a single problem with them. Of course you have to fully verify your identity with it but I didn't have any trouble whatsoever |

ou could try NoChex - but check to see if that is still acceptable to ebay (they went through a stage of throwing off auctions listing it!)

A payment processor can have an affect on sales. I know someone who was with iBill, switched over to using authorize.net and tripled sales (which have continued since then). But as for one merchant gateway versus the other, they should all be the same.

Payflow Pro has a Reporting API that a website can call on a scheduled basis (daily perhaps) to download yesterday's results (successes and declines). A website can either choose to allow Payflow Pro to email the declined customers, or process the declined transactions themselves.
In real time, Payflow Pro has an Inquiry action to allow a website to determine "right now" if a specific recurring profile is "active", "retrying" (a decline), or "inactive" (due to a repeatedly-declined card). |
