There is a lot of material on the web about how to get into making some money. The most common ways should be (and maybe we will) provided on a tile to hang in the toilet.

Services: if you have designing skills; try to sell them. Learn HTML and CSS and, if possible Javascript, and sell complete static sites as service. Learn PHP (or, if you make enough by then, hire a PHP developer) and make dynamic sites. It is really the easiest way on the web to make money. It's scalable too; you can make from $10 / month (which I consider the total minimum) to $10.000.000 / month (which is what big services companies are doing). All depends on effort, risk and talent. But if you are looking for something like $500/month, services is the easiest path to that. On forums like this, people are often looking for services, so your own 'marketing' is easy. Check here; Freelancing - Make Money Forum for more information.

Income from ads (like Adsense, Adbrite etc); this is slightly more difficult, but not much. What you do is make a site (preferably something you are really interested in; readers/visitors can see if a site was made with passion or just for the money) and put ads on it. Then you try to get visitors to your site. How to get visitors on your site (traffic) will be discussed elsewhere on this forum; Google Adsense.

Income from affiliate programs; this is even more difficult than the previous, especially if you want to make it consistent (and you do). You make pages or sites that entice visitors to buy a product and you receive kickback on that product. Besides that you try to get people to sign up for your mailing list, which means you get even more opportunities to sell products. This subject will also be described here at length. So keep checking

Selling your own product; this is slightly the same as affiliate sales. You need a product (can be WP themes, ebooks, real products) and then you market them via sites you make, auctions (like ebay), shopping sites (like Amazon) and you can make your own affiliate program. This is kind of advanced for most people, but once you are into it you can push affiliate products and more products of yourself to previous buyers.

Flipping sites; you can sell sites you made yourself or buy sites and make them better and then sell them. Selling your own sites, if you can do it, is an easy way to make some money. Even if you make 5 a month, you can easily do that $500 or more. Site flipping is also scalable; you can make $100s to millions of $ with it per year, depending on how much you invest and how good you are at it.

More tips for Andrew anyone?

First of all you should change your mindset, making money online in order to purchase your favorite xbox games is seriously a bad idea and the answer is obvious, treat online opportunities as a long term business rather than a once in a time show.

If you only want to raise a little money once then your fastest route would be doing some offline tasks (distributing magazines or stuff like that)

Don't get me wrong, I really want to help you or anyone however making money to purchase something for fun is just ... I dont know

Why dont you make money first, and then with that money you invest to make more money, after that you'll have more money so you can invest again to get more and more and at the end you can purchase not only an xbox, but you could also play online from The Bahamas drinking a cold mojito

You can make good money online with a web site like this one. For example it's realistic that you could make at least $150 per week per site. This may not seem like a lot but once you've built one site it can make you money while you build another. Your second site will be much more profitable so it's possible to make some decent extra cash or even a living from informational web sites like the one you're reading now. This web site was made with Site Build It!. This is a suite of tools that allow you to build web pages without using HTML and get them ranked in Google so you attract heaps of traffic. I have enjoyed every part of building this web site and the money I make from this site is a bonus. I totally recommend Site Build It!. The reason you are reading this page is because of Site Build It!'s search engine optimization features. I have achieved 24 top 10 rankings in two popular search engines with this software.

Treat your job search like a full time job and get the right one, lot of opportunties for aggressive and young people. Start some small part-time business as well you never know what will happen with at and put away money for retirement.

There are a great variety of ways to make money on the internet. Sometimes far too much than is really necessary. A serious beginner needs to wade through an incredible amount of information before he/she knows what works and what doesn’t. Then again, everyone has a different threshold and level of knowledge. How far do you want to go, in order to make money online? What do you know about the different ways of doing so? What have you personally tried?
That’s also why its fun and educational to learn from people with different experiences and backgrounds. So instead of just hearing from me on this topic, I’ll open this up to everyone who reads Dosh Dosh by doing a group meme or survey.
