There have been many contradictions between bloggers (especially newbies) trying to create their first blog online. They have been suggested on using Wordpress or Blogger
What would be an ideal choice and why is it so for you? Personally, I've only used Blogger for "affiliate marketing purposes", that being said, creating blogger blogs for the sole purpose of getting a backlink There's another good thing you can use Blogger for, and that is to get accepted on Google Adsense. (I will explain on another thread the whole process including screenshots) When it comes to Wordpress, its the best platform and from an affiliate marketer's point, it saves us a lot of time and thanks to its fantastic in-build ping system, ranking higher in Google is easier than with any other CMS So if you can afford, purchase a domain name and a cheap hosting, install Wordpress (get it from wordpress.org) and you gonna thank me later |

Thanks a lot OZ for this post!
Being a newbie I can't afford having my personal host or domain name so I'm happy over at Wordpress.com Anyway I'm starting to like this place, even though it might be a bit empty |

I personally prefer wordpress, it is more professional and also you can install the wordpress script on your personal site and host.

I would go for WP, especially the 3.0 because it is much easier to customize and add cool features. Blogger doesn't have that much features or customizations. And then i'm not even talking about the 1000s of themes (free and paid). Ofcourse Olgi knows more about affiliate marketing and such
Maybe Blogger has it's merits there, however I cannot imagine the same wouldn't be possible with WP. Olgi?

Tycho,
I'm myself a big fan of Wordpress and have almost used it on all my long term projects however, there are some exceptional cases where you know you are going to get hundreds of thousand of visitors in 3-4 hours and you need to set up something fast and effective and the answer is Blogger

You'll need to give the new feed address to Feedburner; they should be able to take care of the rest.

WordPress has a lot more than Blogger. That is the reason why You, Me and we all are choosing WordPress as our Blogging Platform.

If you have done everything the right way (in WordPress admin go to Manage/Import and there is an option to import posts from Blogger - follow further instruction there ) and something goes wrong just be persistent and contact administration again.
